Bicuit?
Christmas Eve dinner was stew with biscuits. I was holding Grace in the red chair before dinner and she was fussy as usual. I asked her if she will want potatoes and a biscuit at dinner with the family. She started leaning forward and to the right. This movement is the latest way she tells us that she wants to read a book, as the books are on the table next to the red chair. I didn't get it at first and then I realized, Grace wanted to read her "Biscuit" books.(http://www.alyssacapucilli.com/biscuit/index.php) She heard me say "biscuit" for dinner but she remembered her "Biscuit" books. What is truly amazing is I haven't had these books at hand for about a month or so. I try to rotate her books every few weeks or monthly. So, she was VERY excited to see and read her "Biscuit" books again.

Cookies and Toys
Sunday night, Grace sat on the floor playing toys with Dad. He got hungry for the gazillions of Christmas cookies in the kitchen and brought a plate of Swedish Oat Crips to the floor for himself. Grace reached over to help herself and picked up a cookie. She got the cookie to her mouth and took a bite. Right now her bites don't get swallowed and she works hard pushing them out of her mouth with her tongue and down her front and often to the floor. Grace let the cookie fall to the floor and picked up her magic wand. She then continued to play toys but then she found her cookie again and picked it up and took another bite. This alternating between cookies and toys went on for at least 20 minutes. Play toys, pick up cookie and take a bite, play toys, take a cookie bite, play toys, take a cookie bite…Dad was so happy to see Grace distinguishing between food and toys! And all those bites! Some cookie mush must have gotten down her throat. Our fingers are crossed!
